The homelessness phenomenon exists in Barcelona, and it's only getting worse with housing speculation and more apartments being converted to serve tourists.
Despite the increasing number of individuals being homeless, there is a certain "invisibility" towards them. It’s almost as though “a blind eye” has been turned to homelessness, pretending it doesn’t exist. As a consequence of this "invisibility", stigmatization, stereotype, and ostracization all come to add weight to them.
As a society does not grow by shunning sights away from unpleasant scenes, this project aims to record and document homelessness in Barcelona to increase visibility and break stereotypes.
